Many Easter Eggers have a full beard under the beak, a tail, and a charming mixed-color look. Some may have different shades, markings, and feather combinations, which makes each bird feel unique in the flock.
Cackle does not offer a specific color variety for Easter Eggers. Instead, the breeding goal is wide feather-color variety and colorful egg production.
Embden Geese
Price range: $24.00 through $40.00Because of their fast growth rate, large size and white feathers, Embden are the most common goose used for commercial meat production. Their feet and beak are orange but their eyes are a distinct blue. Due to their large size and breeding, they are a strong breed. At hatching time you can be quite accurate in sexing the day olds from their coloration as the gray down in the males is lighter than in the females. As adults, however, both sexes are pure white and the only way you can determine the sex is the males are normally larger, more pompous and proud in their carriage and shriller in their voices (as with other goose breeds).

Golden 300 Hybrid Layer Ducks
$8.20Because we sell thousands of edible duck eggs a week, it is important we produce eggs efficiently and consistently. In 1996 we developed the Golden 300 Hybrid as they lay more and larger eggs, have a higher fertility and are calmer than the Khaki Campbell. The Khaki Campbell may be a good egg producer in small flocks but we were never satisfied with their production in our larger commercial flocks. Because of this inconsistency, we developed the Golden 300 Hybrid by crossing and utilizing the attributes of different duck breeds.
The Golden 300 Hybrid females are different shades of brown, from very dark to lighter tan. The male can either have shades of brown or have black on them. They do not retain this characteristic in future generations. So if you mate a Golden 300 Hybrid with another Golden 300 Hybrid, their progeny will hatch in blacks, yellows and browns with no relationship between sex and color.
As adults the females range in color from a very light brown to a very dark brown, often with areas of white on them. Males can appear much like a Rouen, or a dull looking Cayuga or with white and dark markings.
Golden Cascade Ducks
$8.20We’re thrilled to be offering the Golden Cascade this year! Our breeding stock came directly from Dave and Millie Holderread in 2025, the original developers of the breed. The Holderreads reached out to us to continue their breeding efforts and help increase the availability of this exceptional duck throughout the U.S.
Developed in Oregon in the late 1970s, the Golden Cascade was created as a multi-purpose duck with high egg production, efficient meat yield, a calm temperament, and unique coloring that made gender identification easier in ducklings. The breed was officially introduced in 1984 and quickly became known for its productivity and hardiness.
Golden Cascade ducklings are beautifully patterned in warm fawn-buff and brown tones with golden highlights. Adult males have a chestnut chest, cream or tan underbody, and a brownish head with a soft green sheen. Females are fawn or buff with delicate brown penciling and a noticeable facial stripe. Both sexes feature a satin-green or brown wing speculum that glimmers in the light.
Today’s Golden Cascades remain exceptionally hardy, productive ducks, often laying between 165-240 eggs per year. We’re proud to carry on the Holderreads’ work in preserving and improving this remarkable breed, a true gem for anyone looking for a friendly, efficient, and striking addition to their flock!
Green Egger™ Hatching Eggs
$4.70Green Egger™ – Cackle Hatchery’s Egger line offers several genetics of the eggshell colors. The Green Egger™ will produce many shades and tints of green shell color on their eggs and will lay medium-large egg size eggs. Depending on the time of year and care they will generally start laying around 6 months of age with averages of 200-250 eggs laid every 12 months after the first egg is laid. The Green Egger™ is not the highest producer of eggs compared to a commercial egg layer but can lay and last more years in an even egg production. Cackle Hatchery’s breeding program for the Green Egger™ is not to have color conformity of the feathers and therefore they make a colorful and diversified looking flock of hens. Parent stock are from selected males and females from the Cackle Hatchery Easter Egger line.
Hatchery Choice Guinea
$7.00Guinea fowl are known for their upright posture, spotted or solid feather patterns, and strong flock instincts. They are highly alert birds and are often described as natural “watchdogs” due to their loud calls when something unusual occurs. Guinea fowl prefer to roost high, often choosing trees when allowed to free range.
Guinea hens lay small, dark, speckled eggs, producing approximately 60–100 eggs per year. While not bred strictly for egg production, they offer a steady seasonal supply.
Hatchery Surprise

You could receive chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guineas, or bantams but there is no guarantee that you will receive all of those. This special consists of whatever we have left over after a day’s hatch, if there are no turkeys, ducks, geese etc, then you may not receive them in your order and could receive chickens only.Generally 40-50 numerous colors, breeds, and “possible” kinds of poultry sent in this fun surprise. We guarantee at least 40 healthy baby poultry on delivery. Please don’t call us to identify the poultry –that is your fun for the next 7 months. India Blue Peafowl Pair
$930.00Of all the various types of peafowl, India Blue (Pavo cristatus) is the original and by far the most popular variety. This India Blue peafowl pair consists of one mature male, or peacock, and one mature female, or peahen.
India Blue is referred to as the wild type, native to India and Sri Lanka. The flashy peacock has a barred wing pattern and a bright metallic blue head, neck, and breast. The peahen is brown, which helps her hide from predators while setting, and has a metallic green neck.
Peachicks are brown and buff. They are difficult to identify by gender. But, by about 6 months of age, the male chicks will develop blue feathers, while the females start showing green.
Only the peacock has a train, which consists of long tail coverts displayed during courting. The eyes, or ocelli, of an India Blue train are dark blue. The multicolored train is iridescent, with different colors appearing in different light.
