Bobwhite Quail Eggs

Brown Egger™ Hatching Eggs
$4.22Brown Egger™ is a Cackle Hatchery genetic line of breeding that is an auto sexing design. The hens are black with some red/brown in the neck feathers. They lay a strong shell of brown color and can produce for many years. We use are best red line roosters over our best barred type hens that produce almost 100% accuracy of sexable baby chicks at hatch time. They lay a nice large brown egg and are of good temperament.
Brown Leghorn Chicken
$3.40Brown Leghorns have colorful, wild-type plumage that looks much different from the clean white feathering of White Leghorns. Hens usually show warm brown tones with darker patterning, while roosters are brighter and more colorful, often showing red, orange, green-black, and dark tail feathering.
They have yellow legs, a light body, and the athletic build Leghorns are known for. Their shape tells you what they are made to do: move, forage, mature quickly, and lay eggs efficiently.
Because they are alert and active, they often notice danger quickly. Their darker brown coloring may also help them blend into natural range settings better than white birds. Even so, no chicken can fully protect itself from predators. Good fencing, secure nighttime housing, and regular flock checks still matter.
Buff Ducks
$8.20The Buff or Buff Orpington was developed by the William Cook family who lived in the Orpington area of Kent, England in the early 1900s. It was developed as a multipurpose bird, with the ability to lay good quantities of eggs along with having the size and feather color to make a good roasting duck. Some even claim that the buff colored feathers are easier to pluck than the white Pekin feathers.
Though the Buff breeds true (progeny have the same color as parents), they originated from a variety of breeds. W. Powell-Owen described this breeding program in 1918 “Runners were mated to Aylesburys, Runners to Rouens and Runners to Cayugas, and the progeny were crossed with one another until the buff plumage was secured.” They entered the United States in 1908. Interestingly, they are the only poultry breed admitted in the American Standard of Perfection with their name as a color only. Orpington should have been used to describe the breed and Buff for the variety. They remain a very beautiful and popular breed.
Buff Geese
Price range: $32.00 through $64.00It is interesting that the buff color is not common in wild waterfowl. Most other domestic and wild geese have combinations of white, gray and black coloring.
The Buff goose was developed for commercial meat production and the claim is that their feathers are easier to remove than white, gray or black feathers as they are less strongly rooted. The remaining pin feathers are so light in color, the carcass is as clean appearing as a white goose. Buffs are a calm, friendly breed and beautiful to watch – especially in a reddish orange sunset.

They are calm, steady birds with a quiet disposition. Although they are large chickens, that does not always mean they lay larger eggs. Like many dual-purpose breeds, they are valued for both egg production and body size, but egg size can vary by bird, age, season, and management.
These started pullets have already been raised in large areas with other birds, which can help them adapt to a flock environment when introduced properly.
