African – Super Geese
$110.00 – $230.00Price range: $110.00 through $230.00All African geese originate in China and our Super African is an exact replica of the Lion Head goose of China. Looking at pictures and drawings from 150 years ago, it is striking how little the breed has changed. It is large with a well developed dewlap. As they are a bit more vocal than other breeds, and larger, the Super African might be the best guard goose we have.
African Geese
$23.00The African goose originated from the wild Asian Swan Goose of China. It was introduced into Europe in the late 1700s and into the USA in the mid 1800s. The original Lion Head breed of goose in China is the same shape and coloration as our African geese. How these geese from China got the name African has always been puzzling. Apparently, it was usual to apply the term “Guinea” to anything foreign and of uncertain origin. As Guinea is off the coast of Africa, it appears the African goose got its name in a similar way.

Australian Black Swan Breeder Pair
$3,400.00As the name suggests, Australian Black Swans are graceful creatures totally covered in black feathers, with an exception of small amounts of white located under their wings, visible only when the bird is in flight. Black Swans are native to Australia and have been introduced to other areas of the world, such as New Zealand and Sweden with success. Black Swans are very social and will occupy a single pond, lake, or stretch of stream upwards of 40 years and are often happy to share. Females will lay from 4 to 6 greenish-white eggs in a clutch and they will hatch in 35 to 40 days. Black swans will pair for life in either male/female or male/male pairs and tend to their young together year after year.

Australian Spotted Ducks
$8.20The beautiful Australian Spotted is a bantam breed of duck that has been in existence for just over 100 years. They were bred and refined in Pennsylvania over the span of about 20 years, from the 1920s-1940s. There were at least three breeders involved in the development of these ducks, and they were exhibited at poultry shows as early as 1928.
All three of the known breeders used the same foundation breeds to create the Australian Spotted; Mallards, Calls, Northern Pintails, and an unknown Australian wild duck. In each case they housed all of the birds together and let them interbreed at will. After a few generations, a distinct looking duck began to emerge. The best offspring were selected for further breeding and became the first generations of the Australian Spotted breed. They come in three different color varieties; greenhead, bluehead and silverhead. All three can be interbred and will still produce purebred ducks in one of the three varieties.
Australian Spotted drakes resemble mallards in coloring, but they have ruddy colored spots on their back and sides as well as a white chest and white flight feathers. Females appear to have “frosted” mallard coloring with many small dark spots sprinkled throughout their markings. Ducks will lay white, blue, or green eggs and they can produce anywhere from 50-125 eggs per year. They are reported to be the best layers in the bantam duck class.
Ayam Cemani Hatching Eggs
This Indonesian breed takes black to the next level! Often referred to as the “Lamborghini of poultry.” Their skin is black, their muscle, bone and organs are black! The bird has a mutant fibromelanistic gene – a gene that deposits excessive black pigment.
We have worked very hard on our bloodlines since importing eggs and birds in 2014 and 2015. We also have added lines from top US breeders and Greenfire Farms to produce stunning pigment and black birds unlike any other breed. Working with several unrelated bloodlines you are sure to get birds you can breed selecting the best! Birds that are so black, sunlight dances in metallic shades of purple and green sheen in the feathers.
Through careful selection and culling we always strive for top quality black meat, skin and good black pigment. Roosters can get some mulberry upon maturity due to testosterone and other influences. Show birds should be kept from the vicinity of hens to further emphasize black pigment in combs. Eggs may be marked denoting the different bloodlines included. Hatching eggs are RISKY! You may hatch 100% or you may hatch none at all. We cannot guarantee the distribution of black pigment on chicks.
We cannot guarantee the distribution of black pigment on the hatched chicks. Some can have leakage in tongue, mouth and toes. A small percentage will have some silver leakage in the feathers as they mature. We never breed to these and are culled out of our flock if it pops out.
